Good God Whats Going On?
I Hate Texas.
Not all of Texas, just the parts holding the yahoo voters who elected TOM DELAY and the rest of the conservative capitol gang.
I havent posted as of late because I frankly have become violently angry with our Congress. This is an outrage to our consitution and our people. Watching 3 hours of CSPAN debate, watching as House Republicans and some damnable democrats supporting this measure, drove a reminder in me of why I am a liberal, not a democrat, a liberal. This is not about how you feel on the Schiavo case, this is about how you feel about the balance of power and the seperation of powers. Congress makes laws, they do not enforce or intrpret law. That is the responsibility of the Executive and the Judiciary. The Courts, all the way to the US Supreme court, have all agreed on a solution: Terry's life is in the hands of her husband, not estranged, her bonded and sealed partner.
My opinion: let her go. She has suffered long enough at the hands of a conniving and angry family that cannot release someone who has been dead for 15 years. That may be harsh and cold but it is life, I never said life in the Liberal Reality was easy but it is honest and fair.
To All Republicans Out There: Read The Constitution. Dont just glance over it, READ IT. What you are doing and have done is wrong. Ronald Reagan, for all his faults, was at least a follower of his party's beliefs and never flip-flopped the issues. They called JK a flip-flopper? What about marriage and its sanctity? What about a Texas law *cough* W, that allows a life to be ended if it is futile to do so, including a case this week in which a baby (less than a month) was pulled off life support because the doctors felt there was no hope. For Terry her pain should end now and we should allow God to take back one of his children. I hope that as the party of Christ and as the Religious Right you will understand the desire for her to be with our Maker.
This is more than enough for today. Please keep your eye on Congress and our Executivve.
