To Paris! To Paris!

Yes you heard right folks...someone is going to Paris, and it's not me!

Its Dr. Condoleezza Rice, our lovely new Secretary of State. President Bush found it a good idea to show off his new diplomatic puppet that he is going to send her over to Freedom City, I mean Paris, to attempt in a bridge-unburning to end all patchings.

Should be a n uneventful trip with an uneventful speech targeted at nothing more than the "symbolism" of an American diplomat in Paris. Now that sounds like a good movie. I can see it now; the marquee with a huge sign saying "American Diplomat in Paris" rated R for moments of extreme reality, freedom, an dry humour. That would be really amusing.

In other news, the African nation of Togo is finally beginning to stabilise after week of violence and a near-revolution after the succession of Faure Gnassingbe as President. The problem that the majority of the people, and quite frankly the civilised world, is that Gnassinbe is the son of Togo's last president, Gnassingbe Eyadema, who died of a heart attack Saturday. The constitution of the nation of Togo states that when the President dies the next-in-line is the speaker Parliament. The Military, Army, of Togo installed Faure as president within hours of his fathers death, not the speaker and not by the Parliament. Under pressure from Army leaders the national parliament of Togo voted 67-14 to install Faure as the Speaker which would allow him to be the president. He was sworn in today among a series of denouncments and condemnation by the African Union (AU) and its member states. The United States has not yet made an official announcement or statement concerning the conflict, of course since there is no Oil there the problem isn't quite so high on the list of things to do.

ITGS is actually starting, I should probably do some work, heh, work in ITGS? Who knew?

"The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall"

-Like IM really going to tell you who said that.
