Great Day

Well...it finally came, my brand-new Apple iBook G4. yay.

And to ceebrate I went out and bought two DVD's: Anchorman and Napoleon Dynamite.

Back to reality:

I just read in an abc news article that the death tole in the Sumatra Quake has risen to over 52,ooo. that is staggering. whats more, the Earth actually obled on its axis due to the quake, i.e. all the freaky weather we have been experiencing these past few days. Also, interestingly enough, the day has been shortened by about 3 microseconds which equates to about one millionth of a second. But its not all bad news. the United States now has the opputrunity to look good to an international community that has viewed the US as something of cavalier if not just outlandish. So how is the US helping? well...we gave $89 billion to fight in Iraq "smoke 'e, out" as W likes to say, so one would think that international relief aid that would stabilize this particular region would be at least, say, a billion dollars. What do we offer? 515 million. well. thats terriffic. a whole $15 million to help a GROUP OF NATIONS that is in what may very well be one of the most devestating natural disaste in the history of civiliation. the UN even had the gall to say to its general assembly that the US was being 'stingy" of course once the press secretary of the UN discovered that stingy is a bad thing he quickly retracted his statement and was praising the assistance of the US. Colin Powell said today that there would be more aid, he just cant say how much at this poin? why? is it another matter of national security? oh well. sucks to be in the indian region at the moment and apparently thats the thinking of the bush white house.

Oh well.

the world still turns (barely)

im off to read the news and grab some pizza ,keep fighting!

revolution
