Crazy election week!

This week has been ridiculous...non stop working to try and get Kerry elected. Kerry's tour of Florida will end with a huge rally tonight at 7. thousands will gather to send the next president off and its going to be awesome.

This weekend I got to meet Vanessa Kerry, Chelsea Clinton, Karine Gore, and Caroline Kennedy...and JE's daughter was there too, but she cant speak very well so I don't really care about her. Got some pics, will upload at some point when I have access to my home computer. Remember to get out the vote and make sure that vote is for John Kerry. Victory '04

Live from Tampa

What a crazy day.

Work this morning till the afternoon. Matt and Jenn in attendance, and I saw a freshman from JSA there, cool stuff. Also in attendance was John King of CNN. He and his crew flew down to film the Tampa effort for Kerry and they followed groups canvassing around today. I got the opportunity to canvass with state representative Arthenia Joyner of Tampa. The CNN crew followed us around and shot video of us going door to door.

Got home at about 4:30 and am currently trying to escape the house to do something non-election, non-work related. Like a movie, hopefully Team America, only because it looks funny all vulgarity aside.

Church and work tomorrow...vote early, vote democrat, and vote Kerry.

Current Electoral Vote Predictor 2004

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Forge Ahead!

Of course this mid-day blog is coming from ITGS, the best do-nothing-and-still-get-an-A class ever.

This particular entry, however, is intended for electoral purposes.

Today's electoral count: Kerry 291 Bush 247

The race is tighter than ever, yet today there is extra hope in that the electoral count is the highest it has been yet. Every state is recorded and there are no ties and to boot these numbers include Naderites and the other candidates.

This is boring I know, but i have nothing else to write about as of yet. So please if you are bored, leave a comment and tell me what you'd rather read.

Class is short today, PSAT wasnt the bear i had thought it would be and the day is running smoothly. Spurgin is approaching, au revoir.

Bored in ITGS

The funny thing is that im avoiding work whilst in my ethics class.

Today is going to be tiring, of this i have no doubt, yet it should be pretty fun. Concert for orchestra tonight at Freedom, we have been working our tails off and we are going to shine as a group. Next concert isnt until november 4th, which is good since its POST-ELECTION.

NHS inductions was an interesting event. Of course there were the speeches and the pictures and the blah blah. The best part of the evening was split between the liberal bias that most people couldnt grasp and scores of parents talking to me about of all things politics and getting their kids involved in the campaign.

Well Spurgin is on the prowl so i better hurry this up...just a few notes on the polls.

Florida is finally back in the blue! A series of new polls show that Kerry is slightly ahead of the other guy by about 1.5%. Thats still a statistical tie. But this is far better than the deep red experienced by the state in the past few weeks. the I-4 corridor is back for Kerry and things are looking good.

The only tied state as of today is Iowa and the numbers are starting to tip left, but it is uncertain.

14 days...but no one's counting

Whirlwind of garbage...

Wow, its been a few days and much has happened.

Homecoming was grand, I had a wonderful time and IM certainly glad I decided to go.

Saturday was spent out in the woods playing boy scout. The best part of the weekend was burning as much of the wastewood as possible after storm damage from the hurricanes. Flames kickin up nice and high and the fire was hot enough to melt iron. Good times to be had by all.

Sunday I got home from my wooland fun and spent the rest of the day working out of the office, and I picked up my check, woo hoo!

Today was routine enough, the NHS run-through was funny, smitty sounded almost stoned. Was she hearkening back to her old liberal-arts college days?

Life has been redefined as school, work, church, and more work. Nov 2nd couldn't get here fast enough, a Kerry victory will be sweet, but the rest afterwards will be the sweetest part of all.

I smell like pot

Yes, you read correctly.

To answer your first question, NO. I was working (i.e. canvassing for work) near downtown Tampa and the next name on my list was at this lovely looking apartment complex. My partner and I went inside to knock on some doors and wouldn't you know it one of the tenants is smoking pot, he and a few of his buddies. Usually I wouldn't really be all that surprised, but it was the stench and the lasting remnants of pot on my clothes that made me mad.

Today was good though. Meeting voters is always fun and everytime I canvass I meet the most interesting people and have what I consider to be my hardest debates. I have to try and justify why these REAL PEOPLE have to deal with healthcare, social security, and anything else that would worry them. I think that may be the real secret to winning an argument, debate real people about their actual issues. I know that sounds stupid but its true.

Other than that life is good, school is truckin along and I have some steady income doing something I love.

"its a good thing"

Gotta love the Martha quotes

Good day today

Half-day, always a good thing.

Seeing a new girl get into an accident and start crying and what not and helping them to calm down and offering a little hope at a time when fear reigns supreme...heart-warming

hanging out- see "half-day"

then the daily bomb: Job Offer. working for JK. good money, good hours, sweet

Good stuff, they say a good day is the lead up to something bad, I hope not, I hope it is merely a sign of things to come.

Static

Well this stupid thing ate the first entry so this one will be a little brief:

Sunday: Awesome time of worship with NLN rockin out for summer missions. Long day but a good one full of music, food, and God.

Today: normal school day so it sucked...until after school when we were supposed to have chamber orchestra rehearsal and my director never showed, we were all really impressed. We did get to just hang out for a little while though and that's fun, especially since I haven't done that in a while.

Off to plan for my sword class on Wednesday, one of my favorite parts of the week...

Relax...

Went out on the boat today that was exciting...

But before the family and I did that we went to an Eagle Court of Honor where, and in attendance were people who *ahem* despise me with a fiery passion. Why? I haven't a clue, more than likely because I never was the kind of kid who liked stupid people and I had not yet learned how to deal with them correctly. Oh well, it was amusing and I got some free food so who can beat that?

The boat was wondrous...out to Lake Tarpon and about 5 minutes after we left the dock I was sound asleep...and woke up about half an hour later. After that I got to tow my dad with a rope and just jam the throttle until he let go and I could say, "its not a far swim, BYE!" but then my mom made me turn around.

Tomorrow is another church blitz-krieg and it should be its usual fun times. 8- about 8 so it will be another all day event. But everyone should come to see NLN at church tomorrow night for the missions night, promises to be fairly interesting and a time of worship.

Alternative Flu Shot

Wow...Today has been the third day in a row that there was a definite shift in the dominate paradigm.

School was its normal self, until ToK's usual round of debates

Then there was a car accident after school. I don't get it, pretty much everyone at school has a cell phone and they have been taught since they were able to speak that in an emergency or if you see an emergency CALL 9-1-1. How hard is that? I pick up my cell phone and two people ask me, "What are you doing with your phone, who could you call?" that's what's wrong with America, we don't need a flu shot we need a stupid shot! I say im dialing 911, and they are like oooh you are a great man. What the crap is that? *sigh* too much stupidity.
As it turns out the two people were fine, I also *gasp* went to see if people were ok and if they needed assistance, heaven forbid we do more than gawk and yell.

So of course I was late getting home, took me an hour...Then Dad thought it would be fun to start a debate about out-sourcing, we agreed on everything but I was still wrong according to me. Some wonder why I have certain oratory advantages over others and that's probably a result of my dad's never ending battle to prove me wrong once a day.

So I watched, or I am still watching, the debates on C-SPAN as they discuss the bill in question, that being the Corporate Tax Bill with all of its stupid pork-barrel riders. But enough about politics, no one except for myself and maybe one other person really gives a crap about it.

Now to do English homework and watch TV at the same time, a skill anyone interested in politics should at least attempt to master.

Thanks to everyone

Just thanking everyone who helped to correct the grave error committed at Freedom High School...thanks to those who called, IM'ed me, and emailed me information, phone numbers, and names.

The count: 40. Thats right, 40 media outlets in tampa and florida have run the story on TV, radio, or a newspaper.

The biggest bombshell of the day: The Associated Press ran the story on the NATIONAL WIRE

Solution: Suspensions have been revoked and those who made racial slurs will be found and suspended.

Thank you everyone and remember to never allow anyone to restrict your liberty and if you have been wronged there are those who will set it right again.

amazing how a day can pick itself up

Today was like any other day until about 3:45...

Get an IM, hey what do you think about this?

Hispanics who were displaying the flag of their country were susupended from school after being told to take the flags from their back packs and they refused. The school? Freedom HS

I know i dont attend that school but people wanted to know what to do and all I know how to do was get the word out. Naturally i was shocked and wanted to learn more...calls were made, AIM was on fire, and action was needed.

As of now there are 2 TV stations that may run a story and the newspapers may get involved. Serious stuff, hopefully it can be worked out and the courts avoided.

Details have been sketchy but things are starting to come together into what happened and now its thankfully out of my hands in the hands of those who know what to do. Thanks to those who let me know about this and thanks to those that provided information crucial to geting the attention of the news services.

A Road Ahead?

Everyone loves to say how much they hate mondays but in all honesty this one was not nearly as bad as it could have been. The only real downside about today was the fact that I was really tired, everything else was fine. JSA was a great meeting, this is the year that we are going to grow and finally get some big numbers again at conventions. The freshmen this year are actually interesting as opposed to last years annoyances we called freshmen. Tomorrow its John v Dick and I cant wait, even republicans are starting to worry about the Senator from NC and his charm on the floor, oh well. Im off to prep for physics, which i am sure to fail. Once the smart people in a class are worried about failing im pretty much screwed.

Working Hard In Class

So here I am right now in ITGS, my computer and ethics class, wasting time and enjoying the fact that I can bypass the internet filters. The day is young and there is much to do but thats it.

I stole this

Saw this on an IB site and had to put it up, i really thought it was funny until i thought about it and realized i actually do some of that stuff...enjoy

Relatives that have been dead for years come visit you and suggest that you get some sleep.
You can achieve a Runner's High by sitting up.
You say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing you've said it before.
You say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing you've said it before.
The Sun is too loud.
Trees begin threatening you.
You can see individual air molecules vibrating.
While writing a TOK paper, you begin to actually understand the material.
You explore the possibility of setting up an IV drip of espresso.
You wonder if brewing is an essential step in the consumption of coffee.
Things become "Very Clear".
You begin speaking in a language that only you and Channelers can understand.
You believe that if you think hard enough, you can levitate.
You say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing you've said it before.
You heart beats in 7/8 time.
David Lynch comes and says: "Hey, can I film you?"
You and Reality file for divorce.
It appears that people are speaking to you in binary code.
You have great revelations concerning Life, the Universe, and Everything else, but can't quite find the words for them before the white glow fades, leaving you more confused than before.
Antacid tablets and No-Doze become your sole source of nutrition.
You discover the aesthetic beauty of school supplies.
You begin to talk to yourself, then disagree about the subject, get into a nasty row about it, lose, and refuse to talk to yourself for the rest of the day.
You yell: "STOP TOUCHING ME!!!" even though you're the only person in the room.
You say the same sentence over and over again, not realizing you've said it before.
Five words: "WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?!?!?!?!?"
You can spell "Baccalaureate".
"I.B., therefore I B.S."
"IB has an honor code?!?!"
"Friends" and "fellow IBers" are interchangeable.
You go to bed at 3AM and think, "Oh, it's an early night!" (My Favorite One)
Your favorite saying is "If I get a hundred on every test for the rest of the year..."
Social life? What's that?
You've fooled yourself into believing that colleges actually care whether you're in IB or not.
You try to wake up fast enough to catch yourself sleeping - and succeed.
You talk to yourself in the 3rd person.
You write sentences on multiple choice tests.
It's okay to fail, so long as you are not alone.
You frequently catch yourself saying "What?? We had homework??"
You don't drink, but you find it a convenient way to explain how you dressed yourself in the morning.
apparently no blog is complete until a post with brackets so here we go...

[islands of adventure]

[lots of middle school kids]

[tired]

[church]

[way tired]

[home]

[FA]

and thats it...maybe next time i can use some sad adjectives to make the mood nice and morose.
Not much this weekend...VP debate tuesday commentary sure to come even under the threat of Catholic Republicans...

Today is the beginning of the end

I just finished watching the first debate and all I can say is Thank You. Thank You to John Kerry for fighting for the right cause and still taking the high road on the course of character. Thank You to President Bush for losing this debate so well and reminding me why I am a Democrat. If this is President Bush's strongest topic then this race is over and America will have a change in leadership; for the first time we will have a leader who has the courage and the intelligence to lead this nation.

Good night to all, I can rest assured that Hope truly is on the way...
